Gulf Coast .NET User Group

Hello fellow GCDNUG Users!

Fall is fast approaching. Before you know it, those of us who are football fans will be enjoying tailgating and regular season pigskin.  This can only mean one thing.  Road Trip!  Yes, instead of our regularly scheduled programming (i.e. August meeting), a number of GCDNUG users are heading to the  Code on the Beach Software Engineering Conference in Atlantic Beach, FL (August 16th - 18th).  The speaker list for the event is a veritable who's who in the .NET world.  Registration for the event closes on Monday, August 12th so there is still time to participate.  Hope to see you there!

Fall also means that school will be back in session soon.  GCDNUG users with school aged children, myself included, can breathe a sigh of relief.  In the spirit of "Back to School", the Gulf Coast .NET Users Group is pleased to enroll you in Programming 101, which will be presented by Professor Bryan Soltis at our September meeting (details below).  Bryan will cover a number software development practices, as well as common programming mistakes.  Ok, so I made up the professor part...

In addition to Programming 101, yours truly ("That's right, Dean Martin!") will be presenting an overview of "Big Data" then delve into HDInsight, Microsoft Windows Azure's "Big Data" solution.  This is my first presentation to the GCDNUG so go easy on the tomatoes.
