Gulf Coast .NET User Group

Ah, Summertime! The perfect time of year for relaxing, convincing the kids that it's not too hot to play outside all day, and hosting speakers in town on vacation! It certainly has been a busy couple months for the user group with meetings back to back to back. Our last few meetings have covered a lot of ground, from VS 2012, to Azure, and a deep look into JavaScript. We seemed to have pretty good success with recording the meetings so we will plan on doing that moving forward. It's a great way to review some of the content and get the low down if you weren't able to attend.

No whale watching.

This month we are lucky to have Brent Schooley traveling through town and stopping to speak with us on Windows 8 Design. Brent's presentation should be a really good one on Windows 8 design and how to leverage the platform to create the best looking and best functioning apps. He will be in the area ahead of speaking at the Code At the Beach (details below) conference in Jacksonville in August. With Windows 8.1 Preview rolling out we're really interested in his take on the changes to the interface and how they will affect app design. Hope you can make it!
