It’s been a good month in the .NET world. The rollout of Windows Phone 8.1 and the all-knowing (well, kind of) Cortana was definitely a big hit with developers. Apparently she doesn’t know Siri, her dad is Bill Gates, and she doesn’t like to talk about her romantic relationships. It is a very big deal for the Win Phone marketplace and I think a lot of great apps are headed our way. Hopefully it’s something you are looking into.
If by some chance you managed to miss every .NET news article in the last couple weeks, you can get the Windows Phone Preview for Developers here:
May will continue our “meeting-a-month” streak, bringing us up to 4 in a row! In this session we will cover two very different topics. Chris Duffy (your trusty VP) will be telling us all about developing Windows Phone apps using App Studio. Also that night, Alex Morrow (Bit-Wizards Director of Solution Sales) will get us all excited about testing using Visual Studio. Both sessions should be really interesting so I’m looking forward it.
Hope to see you at the next meeting and as always, thanks for supporting your local .NET user group! Also, be sure to check out the upcoming developer events in our area to see some great speakers and content!
