Gulf Coast .NET User Group

Hello GCDNUG members!

It’s hard to believe we’re already into March of 2014! And to think, we only have 593 days until Marty McFly shows up to ride his hover board and Biff Jr. wrecks the clock tower. Yes, it’s been a busy couple of months and in that time there has been a lot activity within the group I wanted to recap everyone on.

"I wonder how many people will bet on the Cubs next year..."

February 2014 meeting
Our Feb 2014 meeting was a great turnout for Matthew Parry-Hill and his awesome SQL skills. Everyone learned a ton of great tips, do’s and don’ts, and a bunch of acronyms no one remembers. And for those who forgot half of things Matt taught us (or weren’t able to make), we have some great videos of the night posted on the site here:

South Alabama Day of .NET
There’s an awesome .NET code camp coming to the Panhandle at the end of March. Great speakers and sessions, combined with an Azure Boot camp will make this a great day of learning. Several members of the GCDNUG will be there so we hope you can join us. You can find out all about here:

And finally, meet your new GCDNUG VP, Chris Duffy! Duffy (as his wanted posters refer to him) has been an active member of the GCDNUG over the past year. He has published a Windows Phone 8 app and is currently working on a revamp of the GCDNUG app. He’s a great addition to the group and I know will contribute a ton. Send all your love letters to the new VP here:

Well, folks. That’s about it for now. We will be having a double session meeting on March 19 on MVC5 and CSS for Developers. It should be a great time so we hope to see you there!

Stay thirsty, my friends…
